Building Trust, Inspiring Futures |

Huddersfield NPT are proud of the strong relationships we build with our communities—especially with young people in schools. One shining example of this is the work of PCSO Aaron Murray, who has been a regular and welcome presence at Newsome Junior academy throughout the past academic year.
The staff at the school have shared some incredible feedback about Aaron’s impact:
“Aaron has built a fantastic rapport with both pupils and staff. The children see him as a trusted adult—someone they look up to and feel comfortable around. His visits are always met with great excitement, and he brings a child-friendly, approachable manner while maintaining a clear sense of authority that earns the children’s respect.”
Aaron has delivered engaging and meaningful sessions on important topics such as knife crime, racism, and respectful language. He shares personal experiences that help pupils connect with these issues in a real and relatable way. Staff also praised his responsiveness to local concerns, noting that he always takes the time to follow up, no matter how small the issue may seem.
And here’s what some of the pupils had to say:
“I was scared the police were just here to tell us off, but Aaron explains things and teaches us why we shouldn’t do certain things.” “I love it when the police come in—they always answer all our questions, even the really hard ones!” “They let us sit in their van one time and I put the siren on—it was so loud! I loved it.” “Aaron makes me want to be a policewoman when I’m older. He tells us all about his job and even though some parts sound hard, he’s always positive.”
We’re incredibly proud of the work Aaron is doing and the lasting impact he’s having on the next generation. This is community policing at its best. | ||
